About me

There isn't a day that goes by that wish my little girl hadn't gone. I was looking so much forward to having another child. I still keep track of how far pregnant I would have been, and as it is approaching the her due date I am finding things getting harder. When I knew I was losing her I felt my world was falling apart, I have so much love for a little person, and I dont know what they would have been like, except for in my imagination.I lost my little girl at 17 weeks pregnant on the 30th June 2009. I was miscarrying for 2 weeks, hoping and praying as all through that time I kept having scans seeing my little girls heart beating.
But everything around her eg. the waters were disappearing and falling apart. I knew deep down that I was just waiting for her to die inside me, and when the kicks stopped I just knew she had left us.
I found out that I went through all this, and it could have all been prevented only if the NHS Rountinely screened for Strep B.
As Strep B is a very common infection that 1 in 4 women carry, and it can be treated with antibiotics.
I have found this extremely hard to take, and I am now on a mission to try and raise awareness about Strep B. Many babies are dying through late miscarriages/ Still Births and Neonatal deaths, because someone in parliament has deemed the simple swap as too expensive! -And privately the test costs £10, which I would have happly paid myself, if I had knew about it!!! In many other countries the test is done rountinely, why is it not happening here?

I dont want anyone to have to go through, what I have - and most certainly not over a infection that can be treated with antibiotics!
