justin started losing weight 2nd half of 2007. at first we attributed it to his joining the dancesport contest in his school. like his mom, he loved dancing. pero he became so thin we had to consult a doctor. august, 2008 he was first hospitalized. that started our "hospital tour". he underwent all manner of tests from simple cbc (complete blood count) to the more invasive bone marrow aspiration. all these tests proved negative. he was negative for leukemia, lymphoma, lupus and even aids. he also tested negative even for the exotic, rare diseases. we went to two hospitals in bulacan then to st. luke's. on june 12, 2009 we rushed justin to the ust hospital cardio-vascular unit after it was found out that he already had an enlarged heart. we were confined at the hospitals stepdown icu unit for 29 days. after we were discharged on july 11, 2009, it was just a matter of days before he was taken away from us forever. the doctors wanted to do an autopsy to determine finally what it was that killed my son but i said enough is enough. sad to say our savings were wiped out having spent P1.4M for his hospitalization but i still feel i didn't do enough to save him.

and so in his memorial the cause of death remains unknown.

later on his cardiologist told me that he suspects justin was stricken with a very rare collagen disease which apparently was an incurable disease.

hi cristy. we just commemorated justin's 2nd angel date last saturday, july 30, 2011. it was raining, and before noon the high tide set in. in short umabot yung tubig hanggang sa may libingan ni justin. but in spite of all that, nagpuntahan pa rin yung mga friends niya and everybody had a good time remembering my loving son. i guess he was a good friend to his friends as well.

i love hearing from you. salamat for sharing the pain.
