About me

Hi, my name is Kathy and I am a mother to 3 beautiful children, Lachlan, Rylee and Lillia (who is now an angel in heaven). I am married to David. We were so excited when we found out we were pregnant with Lillia - we had already had 2 miscarriages before her. Though, when I was 11 weeks pregnant they found out that she had a terminal genetical condition that affected her bones. We decided to go ahead with the pregnancy as I had a good feeling about things - I am so thankful we did. Lillia's birth was very emotional as we didn't know what to expect but she was such a fighter. She was sent to the Neonatal ICU for her first 5 weeks then the Peadiatric ICU. As we lived so far from the hospital in Adelaide I stayed at Ronald McDonald House. The 9 months I stayed there were the hardest (as I had to be seperated from my husband and other 2 children) and also the best (spending the precious 9 months with my beautiful daughter). The staff and volunteers of Ronnie Mac and the doctors and nurses of the hospital became my family. It feels so surreal to be home now as it is great to be with my husband and boys but also so painful being here without my daughter.

Go ahead and mention my child
The one that died you know.
Don't worry about hurting me further
The depth of my pain doesn't show.
Don't worry about making me cry
I'm already crying inside.
Help me to heal by releasing
The tears that I try to hide.
I'm hurt when you keep silent,
Pretending she didn't exist.
I'd rather you mention my child
Knowing she has been missed
You ask me how I'm doing
I say "pretty good" or "fine"
But healing is something ongoing
I feel it will take a lifetime.

A Friend is a Treasure
A Friend is a Treasure A friend is someone we turn to,
when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure,
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives,
with beauty
, joy and grace.
And make the world we live in,
a better and happier place.

A True Friend
True friends can be like diamonds, very hard to find.
But when you do, please treasure them, they're a special kind.
You may not realise at first, the value of what you've found.
They're the type of person that in your life, you'll always want around.
That friend can make you laugh, and may ever cause a tear.
Especially if what is said is, not what you want to hear.
Deep down you know the reason, it's because they really care.
They saw you in a tough spot, and didn't want to leave you there.
That friend was there to help you up, and guide you on your way.
They've given you some knowledge, so you can pass it on some day.
It is like they're on a mission, but you must never know.
To keep them would be selfish; you have to let them go.
Just the idea of doing so, it hurts so very much.
Someone else in life one day may need their special touch.
That friend may stay with you, or sadly move away.
Sometime during a friendship, you may have to face that day.
It may well only be a mile or, they may well travel afar.
Distance is no object, because a true friend is what you are

MY LITTLE GARDEN

I have a little garden
No flowers will you find;
Instead you'll see the friendships
That I have made online.

They grow from something other
Than normal flowers do.
They thrive on love and support
And understanding too.

This special little garden;
No matter rain or shine,
Is always in bloom;
This special place of mine.

It's filled with fun and laughter;
Where happiness abounds.
This lovely garden echoes
Many joyful sound.

I would like for you to know
That you are planted here
In my 'Friendship Garden';
Our hearts are always near.

If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you
and share with you its beauty
on the days you're feeling blue.

If I could build a mountain
you could call your very own;
a place to find serenity,
A place to be alone.

If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea,
But all these things I'm finding
are impossible for me.

I can't build a mountain
or catch a rainbow fair,
but let me be what I know best,
a friend who's always there.
