About me

Married to John.
We have 2 other sons and a daughter
We have 6 grandsons and 3 grandaughters

We are pro active campaigners regarding knife crime,
and we want the government to make changes regarding
stiffer sentences for those that kill.
Life should mean life
But the government think differently to us.
They say 12 - 15 yrs minimum tariff is long
enough.
We'll keep chipping away at them till they come round to our way of thinking.
Our protest marches, walks for justice, petitions,
and local and national newspaper campaigns targeting knife crime will eventually make them sit up and listen.
Till that day we all have to support each other.

Brave Face

It’s an effort to cover the canvas —
blending flaw and crack
blotting out the sleepless circles —
those shadows purple-black —
brave colours part-conceal them —
scars blurred ’til they lie faint
wounds sealed beneath a made-up skin
by layers of fresh paint.

A pretentious pseudo art form —
this forgery of a face —
convincing in its shallow way —
a trick to hide all trace
of damage that has wrecked a heart
reflected in sad eyes
where nothing masks the private pain
there is no sure disguise.

I keep my brave face on a shelf
for days I’m strong enough
to wear it publicly so friends
assume that I am tough
’though cracks run deep they’re covered well —
I’m practised at the art
but how things look and how they are
these days are worlds apart.

A Little Peace
sung by Nicole (Germany, 1982)

Just like a flower when winter begins
Just like a candle blown out in the wind
Just like a bird that can no longer fly
I'm feeling that way sometimes.

But then as I'm falling
Weighed down by the load
I picture a light at the end of the road
And closing my eyes I can see through the dark
The dream that is in my heart.

A little loving a little giving
To build a dream for the world we live in
A little patience and understanding
For our tomorrow a little peace.

A little sunshine a sea of gladness
To wash away all the tears of sadness
A little hoping a little praying
For our tomorrow a little peace.

I feel I'm a leaf in November snow
I fell to the ground there was no one below
So now I am helpless alone with my song
Just wishing the storm was gone.

A little loving a little giving
To build a dream for the world we live in
A little patience and understanding
For our tomorrow a little peace.

A little sunshine a sea of gladness
To wash away all the tears of sadness
A little hoping a little praying
For our tomorrow a little peace.

We are feathers on the breeze
Sing with me my song of peace;
We are feathers on the breeze
Sing with me my song of peace.

~ Love cures people - both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it. ~

"The power of love to change bodies is legendary, built into folklore, common sense, and everyday experience. Love moves the flesh, it pushes matter around... Throughout history, "tender loving care" has uniformly been recognized as a valuable element in healing.”
