I think you're right. Parents give us a lifetime of memories, some good, some not so good but the good usually outweigh the bad, especially after they're gone. For me it's the every day life without calling her or being around her that eats me up. The countless memories we took for granted when they were alive now become treasured and protected. I have a memory box. I write down a memory on a pretty piece of scrapbook paper, cut around it, glue a rhinestone on it I got at a craft store and put it in the box. The box is like my heart (treasure chest) and the memories are the precious gems inside the treasure chest. Our parents raised us, instilled values in us, gave us special times and traditions to pass on. My heart aches every day for mom. I wish so much that she were here.
