I'm from the North East of England - South Shields. I was a building worker most of my working life, though in the last few years in the UK I Started driving trucks, mainly night work for NEW LOOK. I met my partner Peter East who was 12 years younger than me, in Jan 1990 at Rockshots in Newcastle. He was then living in Darlington to be near his work. He gave up his job and moved to Gateshead with me. We soon left for London and then over the next 10 years moved around a bit. Eventually coming to France in 2003. Looking for a better life and hoping to buy a little house. It never happened as I got in with a rip off builder. With him - and me spending money I expected to be paid (and never recieved). We ended up skint. At one point having to live for 4 months in a motor home I bought in Germany. (another waste of money) So Peter and I struggled by as best we could. Our situation was just turning good, having met decent people, when poor Peter died. So I am now stuck in France on my own. Its not so bad. Better than any life I could find again in the UK. I'm getting too old to start again from scratch!

I cant do it now, because Peter was my motivation in life. If I did anything, I did it for Peter. My decisions were not always right. But my motivation was!
