About me

11th Jan 2012

I had an ultra sound scan today, the radiographer says the mass on one of my ovaries in her opinion is a cyst about 4cms which is good news if shes right.
I was worried it was a secondry tumor from the carconod tumor on my small bowel. I see the consultant on Friday morning and hopefully he will have some sort of plan of action.

My GP has put me on slow release morphine for the pain with oromorph and paracetamol as breakthough pain relief so I might manage some sleep tonight if I'm lucky. All I managed last night was 30 miniutes sleep..

This is starting to read like a medical journal ♥

Hi, sorry not to have been answering my mail or lighting candles but I've been in so much pain, I got the results of my CT scans and they are not good, I have a tumor on my small bowel which will need operating on. I haven't eaten for over two weeks now and am so tired. I'm waiting to hear from my oncologist this week then I will know more. There is also something showing on an ovary I'm a bit shell shocked to be honest, just not been a good twelve month xxxx

Thank you very much to everyone who has left such lovely messages for me after my recent heart attack, the cardiac team at Leeds General Infirmary have done a good job and hopefully I will be feeling much better in a few weeks time.

Lots of love to you all and thank you again for your support xxx

I am very grateful for all the lovely pictures candles and tributes that kind members and friends have left on my angels site, you have really helped my cope over the past few years.

However I feel really strongly that poems should have the authors name left on, if you haven't written them yourself..

So if you feel differently and object to leaving authors names on poems, would you please not leave tributes on my memorials

My name is Ingrid, Welcome to my garden.

On 26th Oct 2006 my two grandchildren died of carbon monoxide poisoning whilst on holiday with their Daddy. at the 5 star Louis Corcyra Beach Hotel In Corfu.

A faulty badly maintained boiler had leaked lethal levels of carbon monoxide into the room in which they were sleeping

On 4th May 2010 The hotel manager and two other people who worked at the Louis Corcyra Beach Hotel were convicted of Negligent Manslaughter they each received a seven year prison sentence A fourth person was given a two year sentence for controvening building regulations .............

There is now to be a re trial according to legal sources, the Corfu prosecutors decided that "vital court evidence had been ignored by the judges" concerning the two Britons and the other Greek technicians who were acquitted. They also noted that the guilty verdicts called for by court prosecutor Maria Tataki had been largely ignored.

Until the EU change the law so all hotels have to have their boilers inspected annually by a corgi registered inspector as they have to be in this country, I would ask every parent to take a carbon monoxide detector with them when they go on holiday.

Most of us have a fire alarm in our homes because we are aware of the dangers of fire.

We should all be carbon monoxide aware and have a carbon monoxide detector fitted too.

If you don't have one fitted in your home please give it some thought, much better to be safe than sorry.

You cannot see it, smell it or taste it - but Carbon Monoxide (CO) can kill you. The elderly and young are at higher risk than healthy adults.

Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a toxic gas which can be emitted from any faulty heating or cooking appliance, petrol generator, or vehicle engine. CO can be emitted from any appliance burning combustible fuel e.g. gas (mains or bottled), solid fuel (coal, wood, etc) petrol, oil, paraffin. CO cannot be sensed using human senses. Special equipment, such as a flue gas analyser, is needed to test appliances and/or the air in a room for CO. CO can poison in tiny amounts because it is taken up in preference to oxygen by the haemoglobin (the oxygen carrying part) in the blood. Less than 2% of CO in the air can kill in two minutes. Low level exposure of CO over a long period can cause brain and neurological damage.

If your going on holiday
In the Summer school break
Please take a detector
And keep yourselves safe

Think Carbon Monoxide
And what it can do
This silent gas kills
Don't let it kill you

I don't mean to alarm
But this is what I must do
I owe it to my grandchildren
And as my friends I owe it to you
