A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups And set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of little boy.
'Mister,' he said, 'I want to buy one of your puppies.'
'Well,' said the farmer, as h e rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, 'These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money.'
The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket,
he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer.
'I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?'
'Sure,' said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle. 'Here, Dolly!' he called. Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran
Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.
The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight.
As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse..
Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up....
'I want that one,' the little boy said, pointing to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, 'Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would.'
With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe.
Looking back up at the farmer, he said, 'You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands.'
With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup. Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy.
'How much?' asked the little boy. 'No charge,' answered the farmer, 'There's no charge for love.'
The world is full of people who need someone who understands.

both our children were so similar and had CF, both loved pink had a black and tan dog and a pink electric guitar too! I lost Beki to CF in June and I am totally heartbroken, your lovely little girl was so like Beki too, thinking of you and I know how you are feeling, Best wishes, Rachelx
Hi Heather,
Thank you for your message. Keeping busy is what keeps me going so you are right to keep as busy as possible as it definitely helps you keep going. I did not ring back because I did not want to push you into talking in case you wanted some private time. My wife Dorothy still does not want to talk about what happened to Tamzin and it was five months yesterday since Tamzin's death. The rugs some absolutely wonderful and knowing that your Charlotte designed them makes them extra special.
It is nice to know that you are going to carry on Charlottes’ dream as I want to do for Tamzin. I will take some pictures today to show you some of the trophies and rosettes Tamzin won together with our family in the show ring.
When you are ready we will talk and try to help one another.

Dear Heather, I am so sorry for your loss, you must be devastated!
Thank you for the lovely tribute you left on my daughter's site Tamzin Spalding and to answer your question I definitely want to show Tamzin's foal Tribute next year. He is looking better and better each day and I think it only fitting that I show him in Tamzin's memory. I have not shown ponies myself for the past 10 years but hope to do Tribute justice next year!
Charlotte will definitely have a good friend with Tamzin in heaven and she will meet Tanzivan Total Perfection which was Tamzin's all time favourite miniature horse that she won so many championships with 10 years ago. Unfortunately in this evil world too many people were jealous of TP and he was poisoned after the UK-USA show in 1998 and died the following day.
Do you show your ponies? It was the picture of Charlotte with the miniature that drew me to her site as it reminded me of Tamzin at that age.
I don't know if you have been advised about the organisation "The Compassionate Friends" I have found them extremely helpful coping with the loss of my daughter and it is run purely by parents who have lost children through various causes. I believe GoneTooSoon have a link to their website.
