19.11.08 - NO FURTHER UPDATE, THINGS ARE JUST THE SAME.
UNDER SCOTTISH CRIMINAL LAW:-
THE CASE AGAINST THOSE ACCUSED OF CHRIS' MURDER IS STILL ONGOING. THE ACCUSED
ARE STILL APPEARING AT PRELIMINARY HEARINGS, AND AS YET, NO TRIAL DATE HAS BEEN
SET, SO JUSTICE IS STILL A VERY, VERY LONG WAY OFF. I DO NOT WISH TO SOUND
UNGRATEFUL, AS MANY OF YOU ARE BEING VERY SUPPORTIVE, BUT TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE
WRITING TO ME THINKING WEDNESDAY 19th WILL BRING THE CASE TO CLOSURE AND GIVE
CHRIS HIS JUSTICE. THAT IS FAR FROM THE FACTS, AS THE TRIAL DATE HAS NOT EVEN
BEEN SET, AND ONLY THE JUDGE KNOWS WHEN IT WILL BE.
FOR ANYONE UNFAMILIAR WITH SCOTTISH LAW, PLEASE RESEARCH IT BEFORE YOU SEND ME
MESSAGES OF CONGRATULATIONS FOR WED 19 NOV. THERE IS NOTHING TO CELEBRATE YET.
ONCE AGAIN I SAY, THE TRIAL HAS NOT BEGUN YET.
Most people in Wishaw know me as Chris Rooney's & Ziggy McAllister's Mam. We
were a good team, the boys & me. Best pals, (most of the time) but we had our
ups and downs like any family. We stood up against the World as our wee team.
Their dad left when Ziggy was 3, (on his birthday, in fact) so we just had to
get on with life, and make the best of a bad joke. And we did, I worked very
hard to get them everything they wanted.
I encouraged them to get out into the world and explore it for all they could
learn. Chris took up the challenge, he spread those wings and moved to Europe,
covering France, Germany, Belgium and eventually settled down in Rotterdam,
Holland. Ziggy, the homing-bird, never ever left me. He was mine for 27 years.
27 very eventful years, I could write a book!!
Ziggy died in my arms in January 1998 and Chris was murdered in April 2008. My
heart has been broken forever, shattered beyond ANYTHING I could ever have
imagined. Nothing will ever make up for the loss of my sons. A big part of me
died with them, and I will never be the same again. Their dad died in 2000.
I am the younger daughter (THE WEAN) of Ellen and John McAllister, I have two
older brothers and a sister.
I am gran of Nathan Reeve (Chris' Angel son) who was stillborn on 13 Sept 1995.
I am aunt of John Rogers of Wishaw, who was murdered and dumped in the river
behind my house & aunt of Dominic Matthews, (my sister's son from London), who
died aged 19.
They are all Angels now, and so much loved and missed.
I work as a volunteer in our local St Andrews Hospice Charity Shop.
