For a dear friend xx
As night-time sets in,
The roar of life dims,
Replaced by peace.
Stars begin to twinkle and shimmer,
Like magic diamonds they glimmer.
Moon beams shine,
Throwing a dreamy light belonging to the night,
Over everything in sight.
As I sit here in my room,
I see the air is still,
Lights turn out in every house,
Bird calls have died out.
Silence.
A lovely time to think,
To treasure those dear,
In my mind I remember my friends,
Each who has done so much,
Into my life brought their own special touch.
How thankful I am as I fall asleep,
To have a friend I can count as mine,
One light that has not gone out.
So thank you friend,
I wish you a pleasant night,
With the sunbeams of tomorrow,
Shining on you bright.
