GoneTooSoon is a public internet site where friendship and sharing is encouraged. There are opportunities for GoneTooSoon users to place poems and other written text onto any memorial site within GoneTooSoon.
We ask that you consider copyright ownership before placing any text that is not your own original work. Any text copied from another source must include acknowledgement of the original author of the work. If you do not know the author, please include the line ‘author unknown’ after the text.
If you are the author of original work, to help protect your copyright work, it is advisable to mark it with the © symbol, the name of the copyright owner and the year in which the work was created. For example a poem written by John Smith in 2009 would have ‘© John Smith 2009’ written after the text.
If you do not want your original work to be copied and used by other GoneTooSoon users, then do not place it onto the GoneTooSoon site.
If you identify that your copyright work has been used by another GoneTooSoon user without acknowledging copyright ownership, you should advise GoneTooSoon via email to info@gonetoosoon.org, using a formal DMCA letter. GoneTooSoon will then take all reasonable steps to remove the identified text as time permits.
