We appreciate all of your feedback and understand that GoneTooSoon is a precious place for all of us which is why there are so many strong opinions being voiced here.
A few people have mentioned they didn't get chance to test the site however we did send the new design out to each and everyone of you in our last newsletter and we had 98% of people who voted on the new design said they liked it.
I've been through the various discussion threads, tried to read between the lines and put together a list of suggestions:
* A lot of people want flickering candles back (we're working on this)
* A lot of your preferred the old candle page (we're working on this)
* Those using the football themes want the football crests back (these will be coming very soon with new features)
* A few fixes required to a few of the themes (working on this)
* Thumbnail size in the photo albums are too small (we're considering this)
* The community area & gardens are too bright / harsh on the eyes (we're considering this)
* The personal messages on gifts aren't working (we're working on this)
* Christmas themes aren't showing up (we're working on this)
I'll leave this thread open for constructive feedback suggestions. Please don't simply say 'we hate it' or 'bring the old site back' - we need to understand the reasons you feel like this so we can make the necessary modifications.
Our team has worked so hard on designing this new look and updating the website, I'm personally very proud of all the staff members involved and think the new site looks beautiful.

Please listen and change it back completely how it was. It wasn't broken and didn't need fixing. This has upset a LOT of grieving people and if you read the biggest thread, many are planning on taking money elsewhere to build their own site fro scratch so if I were you I'd either change back quickly OR give people the option of which to use and then see.
I am newish to GTS and haven't received a newsletter yet BUT my soul mate died 10 weeks ago today and I feel the time I put into his page is now a scrolling wretched mess.

Jimmy could you please have~ Light a candle ~ as the first option on the pay your respects menu as I have to scroll down to find it each time and it takes a lot more time when lighting a lot of candles.

I'm really saddened to see My Love One Memorial Site had changed. The reason why I chose Gone Too Soon as My Love one Memorial site was because it was different from the other Memorial website it was "UNIQUE" now with this new look for this website-gonetoosoon.org it's worst than the other Memorial Sites that's out there. Have you ever heard this saying? If it's not broken, don't fix it, so why did they (Gone Too Soon) change to this new website? that is horrible/terrible, too plain, cheap looking (ugly), too bright lettering to small and etc (this list can go on and on). Who ever decided to change this website should decide to change it back.

Jimmy please listen to the people members on Forum most like people this site carnt get into garden when i want and it gives you a terrible headache the Themes are all ruined it's so sad

Adding to your bullet points above Jimmy:
* The scrolling Eulogy on memorials and About Me in our Gardens just doesn't work or look right.
* Last logged in feature needs to come back - so we know if our GTS friends are away or haven't been on for a while - we do worry about each other!
* Why is the Green Light showing against anyone who is logged in - even if you aren't logged in, you can see who's online - wasn't this originally a Sponsor perk?
* Counters on our Gardens for Gifts given and received was nice, would like them back, along with Candle / Tribute counters.
I'm sure there are more...I will let you know if I think of them!

WELL IM NOT ONE FOR MOANING,SO IM GOING TO TRY TO TELL ADMIN WHATS WRONG.
1] THERE IS NO COLOUR IN MY BACKGROUND THEMES,I NEVER GOT THE CHANCE TO GIVE TOYS TO MY ANGEL JONATHAN,THE TOY BACKGROUND HELPED ME LET HIM VEIW HIS TOYS.THE CANDLES WAS GOOD B4 AS BACKGROUND THEME
2] MESAGGES PUT BACK ON GIFTS.
3]TAKE OFF THE SILLY SCROLLING DOWN IN EOLOGY FROM GARDEN AND MEMORIALS,B4 WAS BETTER.
4]WOULD LIKE TO SEE WHEN MY FRIENDS ARE ON.
5] INSTEAD WASTING MONEY, FINDING AN EASIER SOLUTION TO LIGHTING CANDLES ,IS THE BIGGEST PROLEM ON THIS SITE B4.I THOUGHT YOU WOULD OF BEEN WORKING ON THAT.
6]CANT SEE HOW MUCH I SPENT ON GIFTS,PAGE IS BLANK ON SPONSERHIP.WHEN IT NEEDS RENEWING.

* Oh yes, along with "light a candle" being destroyed by AWFUL bubbles, if you don't write anything instead of just a beautiful flickering candle, you get BLANK MESSAGE written when you view all candles...this is horrible!

Hi Jimmy! You are absoloutly right to be proud of you team, they have clearly worked hard~I don't know what it takes to change a website this big so dramatically but I can imagine it's a lot of planning, preparation and hard work. The team involved shouldn't be disheartened by the 'backlash' people in general tend to not like change.
Personally I can get used to the change, I think the logo is nice with the butterfly as it is.
My suggestions would be:-
-Change the white backgrounds to a colour less harsh on the eyes and heads of your members (and yourselves) maybe a very pale cream or blue like before.
-Get rid of the scrolling on memorials and garden pages, it makes them seam much less personal (people visiting the site of an angel who's family are adding details about the angel to their site regularly will not see that there is something new to read about because when scrolling it all looks the same.
-I think the gardens look quite classy with the butterflies part way down the pages and the memorial thumnails in little white frames on that background makes them look raised off the page.

-Bring back the 'last seen' thingy in the gardens so we can keep an eye on our friends who may be away for a while needing our support. And the 'location' button-it's nice to know where in the world people are from.
-Change the candle box back if you can please? On Rhiain's page the bit that says 'Rhiain Abigaile's lastest candles doesn't fit in the pink heading box as it's too long, or the box is too little. Also the 5 latest candles she has 3 of them (the bottom three) are inside what could be considered a candle box but the top 2 aren't so it doesn't look as classy as the rest of the site.
-The size of the font doesn't bother me really-I can read the candles easily but I know other people have commented that they're struggling to. Perhaps you could have an option some other webpages do like the banks when you click on one of 3 icons whick allow small, medium or large text (I know this would probably be difficult to install, so just a suggestion)
-I also don't mind the little thumbnails for the photos either, they seem to load much quicker than the bigger ones did.
-Oh and as I type this I just peeked back to Rhiain's page and I like the way the main photo is now at an angle as it looks more inviting.
I hope this is the kind of thing you were hoping for.

Hi Jimmy well I would like to give you my constructive criticism and I sincerely hope this is listened to
1. I DETEST the fact that there is a scroll box on my angels page, this is her little LIFE that is being compressed into a scroll box, I find it very harrowing that people need to use a scroll box to read about our angels, it's VERY impersonal
2. The "light a candle" looks like a cartoon bubble, again impersonal and I'm sure others will find the idea equally distasteful.
3. The themes had a thumbnail before, you could see what your page would look like, now it's a drop down menu and hit or miss as to whether you're going to like the theme or not, also extremely time consuming.
4. The theme layout is not bright enough, or maybe it is .... it's just being DULLED with the brightness of the site now, its FAR TOO BRIGHT.
5. The main photograph on the angel pages are FAR TOO BIG
6. On the home page the layout for remembrance day is awful, its like looking through a catalogue now, bring back the old layout where there was the option of seeing more than 6 angel pages
I appreciate the pros and cons of modern technology and that you aim to please everybody, but in this instance I think that the fact there has been such an adverse amount of negativity regarding the new layout, GTS need to put their heads together and appreciate that it's NOT to everyone's taste and the majority of us DO NOT LIKE THE NEW LAYOUT.
