hi admin,i have already asked quite a while ago and didn't hear anything back so i thought i'd ask again about having a theme with something to do with football for those of us who haven't been lucky enough to use a club of our choice.i know there are some nice themes to choose from but none are really appropriate for my son,he was absolutley football mad.i appreciate the effort you have made to get the clubs permission and chelsea were one of the ones who have obviously declined but it would be great if we could have something associated with football to use.is this a possibility please.many thanks.

Good news for you both!

Anne - I was actually going to send you a private message once it was live as a surprise, but I'll tell you the good news now (I've read Robert's memorial). Rangers have said yes! The Rangers theme will be added (along with about 30 more football & rugby clubs from the UK sometime in the next 2 weeks)

Tina - we did hear you last request, it's just that we get so many requests for new features on GTS that it can a while to get through them all. There will be a football theme not based on any team that will also be on the site in the next 2 weeks (along with a few more sports themes that have been requested over the last few months).

(Chelsea did say no - but I could send you the name of the man at Chelsea who said no - maybe if you wrote to him as the mum of a loyal supporter, asking why most big teams such as Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool etc said yes to allowing their crests to be used on GoneTooSoon memorials and not them, he may reconsider. If you want his details send me a private message and when I'm back in the office on Monday I'll send you the details. If it wasn't for a GTS member contacting Everton, we would never have got their theme created.)

I can't remember from memory all the new clubs that have agreed - I'll post a full list of who has said yes, no and haven't replied so far in the next few days.
