You could always turn Privacy Controls on and approve any tributes/candles when you decide to come back? This may be better than freezing it as it means people will still be able to leave their tributes.

ill never understand how people feel guilty and freeze sites when they are having probs and cant leave tributes ;;;; we light candles because we want to ; if i cant light my candles ; i wouldnt dream of freezing my sites ;id hate to feel that if i dont light candles then others wont light mines ;
