This thread poem 2 as been started to follow on from poem 1
Anyone may add their poetry to this thread, also feel free to copy/paste poems for your memorials.
Please remember that poems added on this thread belong to someone else, so when copy/pasting them please add the Author's name.
If you are not sure where the poems have come from be safe, do not add them.
The reason for this thread, is so that none of us have to run through many poetry site's over the net to find a verse, or poem.
Breaking copyright rule's is a serious offence, not just on the person that removed that copyright, but for this site.

The Angels Came
I dreamed a dream that I hoped was not true,
I dreamed the Angels had come for you,
I awoke to tears on my face,
All I saw was an empty space,
My heart was breaking right in two,
I knew then that my dream was so true,
I prayed for you to stay with me,
But it was just not meant to be,
The dream I dreamt was oh so true,
The Angels had really come for you.

Im in this special garden
where I dwell with god above
He watches over all of us
and gives us all his love.
And in gods special garden
all our dear friends will be
sat amongst the flowers
discussing you and me.
Baby Angels ,wings so bright
fluttering in the soft sunlight
looking down and wondering why
all below are sad,and cry
Remember us with joy they say
we'll be together again one day
and in gods garden we we will share
all his love and tender care.
Then once again you'll smile with me
as all together we will be
So do not weep or cry in pain
Im sending you sunshine, not the rain
The gentle breeze, its only me
sitting quietly by your knee
A soft caress
A whisper low
telling you that I love you so
So do not worry while Im away

If only i could see that face
The one i love so much
To tell you how i miss you so
And to feel your tender touch.
You have passed to another world
Where your time now as begun
But i will never forget you
My dearest darling son.
I hold you in this heart of mine
And i will never let you go
For you will be my son forever
Remember i always told you so.

Memories.
I lost a lot in my life
But the biggest loss was you
God took you without warning
Now i dont know what to do
I will never find another you
Because your mould was broke
You were taken away from us
Our sobs turned into chokes
If we meet again somewhere
Would be a wish come true
Until then our memories
Are all we have of you.

I die with you.
I bow my head in sadness
Cant open again these eyes
I am dead inside today
Dont people realize
Dead inside, all but gone
Now that your not here
There is no turning back
From death, my worst fear
To have, to hold, to cherish
As been taken all away
All i want to do now
Is die with you today.

I promised you something
The day you were took away
I promised id be strong
And that id be ok
But the grief came and took me
To a world i did not know
Like a black tunnel
There was no where else to go
I wished i had gone with you
And be by your side
I was sure it was so much better
In heaven where you reside
I sat there alone one night
I sat thinking of you
I felt you so close
I could hear you whisper too
Pull yourself together
Dont you already know
That time will bring us together
Theres no need to feel so low
This is a beautiful place
But its not your time to be here
But when you are ready
I'l meet you dont your fear
I feel much happier now
Knowing one day i will see
My beloved angel in heaven
Together we will be

THE FINAL INSPECTION
The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.
'Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you ?
Have you always turned the other cheek ?
To My Church have you been true?'
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
'No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear..
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
'Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell.'
