On Saturday of last week, after months' of soul searching we had to make the agonising decision to have our GSD find eternal peace. Her companion of over 6 years is finding the loss as hard to cope with as we are. He is constantly searching for her, howling at first light, pacing from house to garden.
Those who say animals do not have feelings or experience grief are I am afraid mistaken. I just wish I knew how to help Brodie cope (all the treat biscuits will do nothing to soften the blow for more than a few seconds and will do his own health no good).
By the way thanks to all who have left tributes and lit candles for the late darling Casey.
