Suicide

What i have noticed is that some people don't seem to be very understanding when they find out that you have lost a loved one to suicide! I have lost my son Alex in this way and i am sick and tired of some people when they say things like like 'silly boy'....'what a stupid thing to do' is there anyone else who had similar experiences?

RE: Suicide

Just wanted to let those of you who are walking the same path as me know that there is a wonderful support group called Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide. They have local support groups and you can find your nearest one by phoning the helpline on
0844 561 6855 or visiting the website
http://www.uk-sobs.org.uk/
It is a great organisation that has helped me a lot and everyone involved understands what it's like to go through losing a loved one to suicide, as they've been there.
Best wishes to everyone, Sue x

RE: Suicide

Hi Tina I lost my Son neary 2 yrs ago to suicide & I too have had cruel things said like he was selfish but thankfully it was a close family member and one of his close friends & i realised they were only angry with him for doing this to me & it was all part of thier grief & that was thier way of handling it, if these people who have said these things to you did not know & love him then their oppinions really don't matter!! i know it is hurtful all the same but stay strong huni XX
