RE: sudden death after a routine procedure

Sorry for your loss Kathryn, it is so sad to lose your mum in this way. I used to work in a specialist heart hospital and sadly some, fortunately few, people did not survive their angiogram, not because of their heart but because they had undiagnosed kidney problems that meant the contast dye that is injected into the vein overwhealms their weak
kidney(s). It is probably no help to know the reason, as losing your mum is just awful however it happens.
Thinking of you and sending you angel prayers.
Love Sue xx

RE: sudden death after a routine procedure

My dear brother in law went into hospital and didn't come out. It has been a terrible five years. Colin was diagnosed with a "groin strain", was given anti inflammatories, starting bleeding profusely, whipped into hospital, massive bleeding, no transfusionn given until 36 hours later. His heart was thumping, he was given an angio. They found a small tumour in his bowel which had ruptured due to anti inflammatories. Tumour removed. Colin improving, then suddenly, whoop, a day later he was burning up with infection, that night he died, having been "found" slumped in his bed in the intensive care unit. His notes say he suffered another massive bleed. We are angry, so angry. Why weren't things done more quickly, why 36 hours for a transfusion, why was he left alone in intensive care to be found dead "slumped " in his bed. Inquest carried out, no witnesses called. Still no answers and it hurts like hell, always will.
