hi, i recently lost my cousin (who was more like a brother to me than anything) to some stupid boy racers, they knocked him down and killed him, he was 21 with 2 young children, both drivers were cought but there only being done with death by dangerous driving, iv looked it all up and the max there looking at is about 7/14 yrs,untill the court case they have had there passports taken but not there driving licences, please tell me i am not the only person out there that thinks this is sickening! they should be doing life, isnt a car a weapon as soon as you sit behind the wheel?? iv got questions that no one seems to beable to answer, im hateing all authority at the moment for not having the answers and the pain just seems to be gettin worse rather than better... please can some one shed some light on the subject at i feel lost.

Hi, am sooo sorry for anyone that loses someone this way. I lost my 16 yrs old daughter Sian. The guilty parties got 3 yrs! one of which was out on licence after 11 months !!!!!!!!. We all get life. Death on the road means nothing. Its the 2 yr anniversary next week. It never goes away for the victims, our whle lives change. We need to lobby our MPs to change the law on this. Its not murder but culpable himocide. We are far too soft on criminals.

Hi, Kelly, My heart goes out to you, as My Son was killed by a drunk driver who was 3 & 1/2 times over the limit & also over the speed limit, the driver overtook a car that was turning into their road for home, & he ploughed into my Son & his girlfriend, she had landed on top of 6' wall & broke her pelvis & leg in several places, my Son ruptured his aorta & bled to death with every bone in his body broken. The driver got 3&1/2 yrs prison, which he did 18 months in & 18months at home on tag, and a 5year driving ban. there is no justice, but no ammount of sentance is enough.He was my only child, & the driver took my future with my son away from me & the hope of Grandchildren in the future was gone.
He has 4 children & a Grand- Daughter, he got to say goodbye to his Family before he went to prison, I didn't have that privillage, as he lived in another city, he died in 4 minutes. So please take my condolances knowing I do understand how you feel.xxxDawn.

I think we should all get together and make some noise dont you. show them that this will not go away, the situation just gets worse.
I think that the dangerous driving, should be classed as Manslaughter, becuase that person took the life of our loved one. so its left to us to fight the corner, and let the goverment know that laws have to change and sentences , mean sentences for taking a life..
I know I will always stand up for my son, and I will definately get Justice one way or the other.
My son Glen was my world, ,my life, hes my boy, my son, and that scumbag took him away from me and the rest of the family.,
Like the drivers who killed your loved ones.

hi my heart goes out to you all i know just how you feel its coming up next week to the second angel day on the 26th aug for janet and ive got worse as the year has gone on so it doesnt get any better with time in fact im more depressed than ever but i knew that cos janets husband was killed on motorway in 1988 after only 5yrs of marriage at 28yrs old so its second time for me i know this time we got a decent sentance in one way but he did kill 2 people but thats all he would have got if there had been 6 in car but he will only serve 6yrs of the 14yrs cos of all the time off and the law wont let the judge give them anymore for it to us thats just 3yrs for each life and this was a scumbag that had been stealing cars and a lot more from age 13 to 23 when he killed janet he had 47 offences and 43 covictions against him so he will be out doing it again in 2015 its obvious nowts going to change him thats how he lives his life their was no remorse in him at all in that court room even when the judge told him he wasnt fit to live in a humane society not a flicker crossed his face he should be made to serve all 14yrs but he wont its so disgusting what they get time off for i couldnt believe it when we were told love to you all and all your angels may they R.I.P. Hi Kelly , realy sorry to hear about your cousin x I lost my son in a Motorbike Accident on the 26th june 2010 . One sunny day my son and his mates were coming back home from a bike ride and were behind a van driver , At the inquest witnesses were called and one of them was the man who was in front of the van driver , who said he was up his rear end and very close . the car in front turned right and the van took over him , which was in itsself a silly manouver . my son followed the van up the road and carl my son took over and unfotunatly had a head on collision with another car . the van driver said he didnt see any bikes on the road that day and didnt know what had happened untill it was put in the paper on the monday and he came forward . still he says he didnt know there were 3 yes 3 bikes behind him , even the judge said one would of been loud enough but 3 ? He never got charged with anything , not even undue care and attention because he obviously to me wasnt taking much care on the road . I Hope it Haunts him for the rest of his life . x i have to live with the loss of my son not knowing wether he had anything to do with it , its so frustrating .

i thank you all for your response and apologise for not getting back sooner, we have all had a busy year, they pleaded not guilty at court so now we have to go to trial in feb, they say it should take no more than a week to come to a decision, there only lookin at 4years each! not much really! the trial starts a week after daniels 1st year of leaving us, when they say the first years the hardest they weren't kidding were they!? i have everything possable crossed for the up comeing dates.

hi kelly to be honest i dont no what to say i think the system is wrong def in 2001 i lost my grandad he was murdered in a pub hit from behind had a heart attack and was kicked to death the man served 18months because my grandad had a heart attack the sentance got dropped as they argued the point that he could of had one anyway even though he was fit and healthy so yes i hate the system people can steal a car and burn it out and get 4 years someone kills someone and justice is never served i no it wont bring him back and it wont make the pain go away but i will keep my fingers crossed they get the maximum put a petition on your facebook etc x
