What is the GoneTooSoon Christmas Tree?

This Christmas, GoneTooSoon is aiming to build the “World’s Tallest Virtual Christmas Tree” while raising money for charity and you can help. Christmas is a time of the year when we start to remember those we’ve lost and what better way to remember them, than to create a beautiful, personalised bauble and hang it on our tree.

The more baubles that are hung on our tree, the taller it will grow and the more money you can help us raise for charity.

How much does it cost and where does the money go?

It costs 5 GoneTooSoon credits to add each bauble to the tree. Credits can be purchased online by credit card, debit card and paypal. You may also pay by telephone or post a cheque or postal order to us. Full details can be found on our checkout page.

For each bauble hung on the tree, £2.50 (inc vat) will be donated to Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK, who grant magical wishes to children and young people living with life-threatening illnesses. Any remaining monies will go towards the huge running costs of GoneTooSoon, helping to ensure the site remains free for everyone, whatever their financial circumstances.

How do I dedicate a bauble on the tree?

Simply visit the memorial you wish to dedicate a bauble to and click the GoneTooSoon Christmas Tree banner. You can then create a personalised bauble by choosing its colour, texture and accessory. There’s also a space on the bauble to compose a personal tribute. It will also include the main photograph from that memorial automatically.

Once you’ve finished creating your bauble, it’s time to choose a place on the tree to hang it.

Anything else I should know?

No! All you need to do it select who you want to dedicate it to, choose a design, select a spot to hang it in and you're done – it’s that simple! The GoneTooSoon Christmas Tree will also be available to view on this page all year round.

On the 24th December 2008, we’ll also create a full size image of each individual bauble and add it to the photo gallery of your loved one’s memorial.
